Region Staff Writers
Role Description:
In this role, you will interview, write and edit articles for the Region I blog and special publications. You will be writing about events, speakers, or any other topics of interest that your local section hosts.
Requirements:
To be considered a staff writer, you must be a SWE member and submit a minimum of two (2) articles to the blog throughout the year (between now and May 1, 2010). It is generally recommended that the staff writer be the secretary or be active in another role that document the events of the section.
There are no limits on the number of Staff Writers for your Region at this time, as we want to encourage all our sections to share their experiences on the Region Blog. Your RCNE may send out requests for articles, but it is generally expected that you will send in new articles on your own soon after an event has happened. You will use the Blog Submission Form to submit articles, and we strongly encourage sending in links to photos from the event (detailed in the Submission Form).
If you would like to join the team, please send an email Emily Miller at rcne-i@swe.org with the following information:
- Name
- School section (ie Colorado School of Mines)
- Position in section (ie Secretary, member, etc.)
- and whether or not you are a SWE member
She will contact you about which events you would like to cover and the deadlines you would like to submit your articles.
