Leadership Coaching Committee (LCC) Resources

Even though regions are being dissolved in FY19, the Leadership Coaching Committee (LCC) is here to stay! Every professional and collegiate section has an LCC coach. Coaches can offer two types of guidance:

  • Coaching: present an LCC module on professional development, SWE, or leadership. This can be especially beneficial for your executive council, and requires minimal planning!
  • Consulting: answer questions and facilitate discussion about improvements to your section. This is great for the leaders in your section!

The LCC has its own travel budget, so any in-person sessions are free of cost for you.

The LCC coaches for Region i are: Abigail Wendt (abigail.wendt@magellanlp.com), Janis Pfingsten (janis.pfingsten@centurylink.net), Heidi Otten (otten.heidi@gmail.com), and Kristina George (kgeorge323@gmail.com). They are great resources for your section!

If you are a collegiate interested in getting involved with a Societal level committee, you can join SWE’s Coach in Training (CIT) program. This includes shadowing a current Coach, providing feedback/updating LCC modules, and committee wide calls. Email Heidi Otten (otten.heidi@gmail.com), LCC’s Collaboration Lead, if you are interested in becoming a Coach in Training.

If you’re interested in becoming a Leadership Coach, an application, SWE resume, and 2 references are required. Email leadershipcoaching-chair@swe.org for more information.

If you have questions you can contact the FY18 LCC Chair – Heather Wiest (leadershipcoaching-chair@swe.org). Also, the LCC is on social media! Stay updated with new information by following them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
